As part of this tradition of cultural preservation and support, we donate a portion of every room night's revenue to the Harwood Museum of Art. The Harwood Museum of Art works hard to bring Taos arts to the world and world arts to Taos.

About The Harwood Museum of Art

In the early 20th Century, many artists were drawn to the Taos for its unique scenery. In fact, the art that emerged was influenced by New Mexico's landscape and light and the traditional Native American and Hispanic cultures of the region.

Burt and Elizabeth Harwood founded The Harwood Museum of Art, in 1916. The Harwood's moved to Taos from their residence in France, and purchased the Ledoux Street property, which contained several small adobe buildings. They eventually remodeled the properties using many local traditional construction techniques. The Harwood complex, previously known as "El Pueblito," was a part of the Pueblo/Spanish Revival and restoration movement in New Mexico.
